25 April 2012, 1 a.m.
I suspected my water bag has leaked, so we went to the hospital to be sure. The midwife took urine sample from me and put the contraction detecting machine (I don’t know what it’s called) on my tummy, she came back after an hour and said that my water bag has a cracked. I was admitted then and needed to stay so they can monitor my progress. At 10 a.m., they asked me to come back to the delivery room to be examined for any progress but I was still 2 cm dilated and she said she will induce labor to help me have more contraction. After 2 hours of injecting the gel on me, there wasn't any progress. I was asked to go back to my room and after 4 hours I have to come back again to be examined. It was lunch time that I decided to have a warm shower (the midwife told me that a warm shower will help me ease the pain and relax a bit), my husband waited outside the shower room. After I got dressed outside the shower room, I started to feel pain like a massive urge to do number 2 (sorry for the description but it was the way I felt that time, I know all mothers out there would agree), and then I screamed at the top of my lungs, I didn't know I was already in labor. Then we went out of the shower room. While walking in the hallway, I started to feel another painful massive urge to do number 2, I screamed again and it caught the attention of the midwife in the hallway. She quickly wheeled me to my room and examined me, and then she said she can feel the baby’s head. She wheeled me again as fast as she can to the delivery room, from there all midwifes helped me but the blonde young midwife was the one who assisted me in giving me birth. I begged for anesthesia but the midwife said it was too late because the baby was on the way. After staying 10 minutes in the delivery room, viola ! my baby was out. It was 14:18 p.m. I thank God for this painful but wonderful experience; I also thank Him that my baby and I were safe.
